This grey wool dress dates from the very early 1950s has a lovely structured feel to it, and incredible beaded detail. The neckline is high with a small V shaped slit to the front of the bust, and the cuffs have a two button detail to each sleeve. The front panels are embroidered with dark grey, almost charcoal coloured bugle beads in a very detailed, abstract design which expands outwards from the centre. The dress has shoulder padding, nips in at the waist and is finished with a slim grey belt in a matching fabric. It fastens down the back with the original metal zip and features two pockets - great for the colder winter months! Unlined but immaculately finished and would be a versatile piece for both formal and every day occasions. It's a fine choice for Goodwood too. Unlabelled but this is most certainly a designer dress which would have retailed in a high-end department store. Will fit up to a UK 8-10 or US 4-6. Excellent vintage condition - no issues to note.
